Biden Makes Up Ridiculous Reason for Dropping Out of Presidential Election

Joe Biden made waves on Wednesday when he appeared on The View, providing some eyebrow-raising explanations for his decision to drop out of the 2024 election. During the interview, Biden told the co-hosts that he stepped aside because of his administration’s overwhelming “success,” claiming that it was time to pass the torch to Kamala Harris. “We are having so much success… I found myself having used more time than I would have ordinarily to, you know, pass that torch to Kamala,” Biden told Whoopi Goldberg.

Biden’s departure from the race in July was abrupt, to say the least, but his explanation on The View has only added to the mystery. He framed his decision as a result of getting things done that “people thought we couldn’t get done,” suggesting that he had accomplished enough to step aside.

But that didn’t stop Biden from taking a few swipes at his favorite political target, President Trump. Biden told The View hosts that he was certain he would have beaten Trump if he had stayed in the race. “I was confident I would beat Trump, he’s a loser,” Biden quipped, dismissing the idea that his polling numbers were ever a serious issue. He claimed that any suggestion of overwhelming reluctance from Democrats about his potential second term was unfounded. “I never fully believed the assertions that somehow there was this overwhelming reluctance of my running again,” Biden insisted, even after the polls had shown some weakening support.

One of the co-hosts asked the inevitable question—would Biden have won if he hadn’t stepped down? Biden didn’t mince words, stating emphatically, “Yes. I was confident I would beat Trump.” Of course, whether the voters would have agreed is another question altogether, especially considering the growing concerns surrounding his age and mental fitness, which had been a frequent talking point for critics and even some Democrats.

Biden’s appearance on The View comes at a critical time for the Democratic Party, as Kamala Harris now leads the ticket heading into the 2024 election. With Trump continuing to dominate the GOP field, Biden’s comments will only add more fuel to the fiery political landscape. Whether Harris can rally the base like Biden claims he could have remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—Trump’s name isn’t going away anytime soon, and neither is Biden’s.
