The reality is, Ford’s posturing is for show. Canada’s economy leans heavily on trade with the U.S., and any fuel cut-off would backfire spectacularly. Cutting energy to Michigan alone — a state deeply intertwined with Ontario’s economy — would devastate Canadian industries. Ford even admitted, “I don’t want this to happen,” which is political speak for, “I know I can’t really do this.”
