CBS Caught Editing Kamala Harris’ 60 Minutes Interview to Erase Embarrassing Word Salad!

Ah, CBS News—yet another chapter in the never-ending saga of the mainstream media’s love affair with selective editing. This time, they’re in hot water for trimming down an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris on 60 Minutes. Apparently, Harris’ answer about the situation between Israel and Hamas was so all over the place that CBS thought it would be best to spare her the embarrassment. How thoughtful of them, right?

In the unedited clip, Harris stumbles through a response to a question from correspondent Bill Whitaker about Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his disregard for U.S. diplomacy. Harris gave one of her trademark “word salad” answers, spouting off about “movements in the region” and vaguely mentioning the importance of the United States being “clear about where we stand.” It was a lot of words with little substance, and social media didn’t take long to call it out. So what did CBS do? They just snipped it right out of the final aired segment, replacing it with a much cleaner response. Because why let a potentially disastrous answer air, especially when you’re trying to help the Vice President look competent on foreign policy as she inches closer to the 2024 election?

This move by CBS isn’t surprising. After all, they have a vested interest in ensuring Harris appears in control and informed, especially given her reputation for incoherent statements. Let’s not forget, this is the same Kamala Harris who has made a name for herself with bizarre, convoluted speeches that leave people scratching their heads. Whether she’s talking about “the passage of time” or launching into a strangely worded tangent, it’s almost become her signature style.

But the timing of this interview and its edits is especially curious. With the 2024 election looming, Harris has been bouncing from one media outlet to another in an apparent effort to boost her appeal. She’s been cozying up with Alex Cooper from Call Her Daddy to try to win over younger voters, hitting The View, and will soon be making stops on Howard Stern and Stephen Colbert’s shows. She’s clearly trying to maximize her visibility and reach new demographics. But it’s hard to make a lasting impression when every time she opens her mouth, people are left wondering what, exactly, she’s trying to say.

So, here we are. CBS edits out the mess, and Harris gets to avoid another viral moment for all the wrong reasons. At the end of the day, though, it just makes CBS look biased, as if they’re shielding her from the consequences of her own words. It’s a disservice to viewers who deserve to see the unvarnished truth, especially with so much at stake.
