Oh, look—another Clinton-appointed judge stepping in to protect the bloated, inefficient federal bureaucracy. This time, it’s Judge William Alsup, who has ruled that President Trump’s administration illegally fired thousands of probationary government employees. In other words, Trump tried to drain the swamp, and now the judicial activists are scrambling to fill it back up.
ALSUP: “It is sad, a sad day, when our government would fire some good employee and say it was based on performance when they know good and well that’s a lie.”

UPDATE: Alsup will also require offer of reinstatement to fired probationary employees at DOD, Energy, Interior, Treasury and Agriculture 🚨

Let’s be clear: these were probationary employees, meaning they hadn’t even finished their trial period. They weren’t entitled to the cushy, union-protected, can’t-be-fired government job status yet. But according to Judge Alsup, they deserve special treatment because—what? They weren’t given enough time to prove how useless they are?
The ruling affects six major agencies: Veterans Affairs, Defense, Energy, Interior, Treasury, and Agriculture. That’s right, agencies that are notorious for their red tape and inefficiency. If anything, firing a few thousand people should’ve just been a starting point.
Of course, the left is outraged because this decision throws a wrench into President Trump’s ongoing efforts to overhaul the federal government. They know that in order to implement real conservative policies, Trump has to gut the deep state—starting with bureaucrats who are more loyal to the Democrat machine than they are to the American people.
According to reports, up to 220,000 federal workers were still in their probationary period as of March 2024, and it’s unclear just how many have already been fired. But if you listen to the media, they act like this was some mass purge of innocent, hardworking public servants. Meanwhile, we all know that many of these agencies are nothing but taxpayer-funded liberal enclaves, filled with activists who see their government jobs as a way to push leftist policies rather than serve the country.
Take the Department of Energy, for example—where as many as 2,000 workers were laid off, including hundreds from the office overseeing the nuclear stockpile. You’d think that would mean Trump was cutting national security, but let’s not forget that under Biden, the DOE prioritized “diversity and inclusion” over, you know, actual energy policy.
And then there’s the CDC, where nearly 1,300 employees—about 10% of their workforce—were let go. Considering how the CDC handled COVID (flip-flopping on masks, pushing lockdowns, cozying up to Big Pharma), maybe a little house-cleaning wasn’t such a bad thing.
At the end of the day, this ruling is just another example of liberal judges protecting the swamp. But don’t worry—the Trump administration isn’t done yet. The deep state will be dismantled, one way or another.
