Kamala’s Desperate Comeback Plot Already Backfiring — Allies Jumping Ship!

Is Kamala Harris getting ready to throw her name into the 2026 California governor’s race? Republicans sure hope so — not because they admire her political instincts, but because she might just hand them their best shot at statewide office in two decades.

With Governor Gavin Newsom term-limited and gearing up for his inevitable run at the White House (despite pretending he’s not), Democrats are bracing for a primary free-for-all. And now, Kamala Harris — the former vice president, former senator, former California AG, and current walking punchline — is rumored to be eyeing the job.

Let’s be honest: Harris is about as popular in California these days as rolling blackouts and gas taxes. Republicans, despite being outnumbered in the state by a 2-to-1 margin, are salivating at the opportunity to face off against her. Her record? A political disaster zone — complete with a vanishing act at the southern border, cringe-worthy word salads, and blind loyalty to the Biden administration as it spiraled into chaos.

“Kamala Harris is the one who least represents change,” said Republican candidate Steve Hilton. “The candidate who’s going to win in 2026, regardless of party label, is the change candidate.” He’s not wrong. California voters are growing tired of one-party rule that’s given them skyrocketing crime, homeless encampments that stretch for miles, and the nation’s highest cost of living. A Harris candidacy just reinforces the status quo — and that status quo is failing.

According to Politico, Harris jumping into the race is already a gift to Republicans, who now have a high-profile boogeywoman to run against. As GOP strategist Dave Gilliard put it, Harris could “attract some donors from around the country who might be interested in taking another pound of flesh.”

That would be a major boost for the California GOP, whose biggest obstacle isn’t just voter registration, but donor skepticism. If Harris runs, money flows — and so does conservative energy.

Of course, Harris has some baggage to carry — namely, her role in defending President Biden during his clear and worsening mental decline. With revelations from Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson exposing Biden’s mental fog, falls, and rumored wheelchair use, Harris will face the inevitable question: what did she know, and when did she know it?

She’s reportedly given herself until summer’s end to make the call. For the California GOP, that decision can’t come soon enough.
