Liberal Judge Hauled Away by FBI for Helping Illegal Escape Justice

It looks like the days of activist judges playing cover for illegal aliens are finally hitting a hard wall—courtesy of President Trump’s Justice Department. This week, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan became the second judge arrested under Trump’s administration after allegedly helping an illegal alien evade capture inside her own courthouse.

According to a statement from Director Kash Patel, Judge Dugan was cuffed by FBI agents on Friday after knowingly misdirecting federal officers who were attempting to apprehend Eduardo Flores Ruiz, an illegal immigrant hiding in her courthouse. Instead of allowing law enforcement to do their job, Dugan allegedly pulled a stunt straight out of the progressive handbook—buying time for Ruiz to slip away. Fortunately, agents managed to chase down the fugitive shortly afterward, but Patel didn’t mince words: the judge’s actions endangered the public.

And guess what? Dugan isn’t alone. She’s just the latest in a disturbing trend of judicial obstruction in the name of “social justice.” Flashback to Trump’s first term when Massachusetts Judge Shelley Joseph was charged for helping an illegal immigrant escape ICE agents through the back door of her courtroom. The Biden DOJ, of course, dropped the charges in 2022—because who needs laws when you’ve got identity politics?

Then there’s Joel Cano, a former New Mexico judge, who had to resign in disgrace after federal agents arrested an illegal alien gang member hiding out in one of his family’s homes. Cano received a lifetime ban from holding judicial office. Good riddance.

But here’s the bigger picture: Trump is finally restoring accountability across the entire judicial system, especially in immigration courts. The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) has axed over two dozen immigration judges since February. These weren’t minor firings—they were deep cuts across activist strongholds from California to Massachusetts. No more cushy asylum hearings handed out like candy to illegal aliens. It’s time judges remember they serve the law, not their personal politics.

EOIR Acting Director Sirce E. Owen said it best: “Executive Branch officials answer to the President and to the people.” Exactly. For far too long, unelected judges have treated immigration laws like a buffet—picking and choosing what they like. Trump’s DOJ is making it clear: those days are over.

Real justice means upholding the law—not harboring fugitives. Judge Dugan just learned that lesson the hard way.
