There’s something fishy going on here, folks. Dave James Stewart, a guy who found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time during the assassination attempt on President Trump, is spilling some serious beans. Known as “realDJStew724” on YouTube, Stewart’s got a tale to tell that has our eyebrows raised.
Stewart was caught up in the police response to the shooting and he says he heard some things that didn’t quite add up. He claims there were radio chatter about blood found in a bathroom and a potential second shooter on the loose. He first shared his story on July 28, a couple of weeks after the incident, with a video showing cops reacting to an unknown threat on a rooftop just before Thomas Matthew Crooks started firing.
The video shows an officer with his gun out, eyeing the roof opposite where Crooks later opened fire. This same cop was later seen in bodycam footage chatting with other officers on the roof where they found Crooks’ body. Initially, all he wanted was to snap a photo of Stewart’s ID, but things escalated quickly. A state trooper ended up detaining Stewart and handing his phone over to the FBI.
In a bold move, Stewart called out the Pennsylvania State Police Trooper who detained him in a post on his YouTube channel. His message? Don’t tread on me, buddy.
Our group by AGR. Everyone of these people watched a cop come down from the stage and rough me up and arrest me. They told me I gotta do something about that. So if you're in his picture or know who is – contact me please! pic.twitter.com/ObfAeqT8AD

Stewart was just trying to get a peek at a Trump rally after his shift at a local convenience store when he found himself in the middle of this chaos. He managed to capture some video footage that law enforcement quickly seized.
In an Axios interview, Stewart shared that he was hustled off to a building packed with other witnesses and grilled by multiple law enforcement agencies. They told him not to talk to the other witnesses, adding an extra layer of secrecy and tension to the whole ordeal.
On July 30, Stewart dropped an audio recording of his interrogation by a State Police trooper. In it, he confronts the trooper about his detention and questions their motives. The trooper eventually tells Stewart they needed to chat with him so they could give him back his phone.
But here’s where things get really interesting. Stewart says he heard cops talking over the radio about blood in a bathroom and a second shooter still on the run. Now, we haven’t had any official confirmation on this, but Stewart’s adamant that’s what he heard.
Eyewitness Claims Police Reported ‘Second Shooter on the Loose’ After Trump Assassination Attempt

A bodycam video released later shows an officer with cut hands, which might explain the ‘blood in the bathroom’ story. But the second shooter? That’s still a mystery.
As the investigation rolls on, Stewart’s account throws a spanner in the works. It’s too early to say if his claims hold water, but they certainly raise some serious questions about how transparent and thorough the police investigation has been.
