Travis Kelce Abandons Football for Frivolous Game Show Hosting – Is This What We’ve Come To?

Let’s give credit where it’s due – the man knows how to leverage his fame. NFL star Travis Kelce is making a name for himself beyond the football field.

He’s gearing up to host a fresh game show called “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” slated to stream on Amazon Prime Video. The format? Contestants team up with celebrities to tackle basic trivia questions, reminiscent of Fox network’s hit series “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?”, which first graced our screens in 2007.

Kelce, now 34, is not just a celebrated tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, with three Super Bowl victories under his belt. He’s also known for his relationship with pop music sensation Taylor Swift. As he steps into this new role, Kelce shares, “I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one.”

The unique selling point of Kelce’s show is that adult contestants are not pitted against celebrity guests but collaborate with them instead. They navigate through 11 questions based on primary school curriculum and stand a chance to bag an impressive cash prize of $100,000.

Amazon has displayed faith in “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?”, commissioning twenty episodes right off the bat. Besides his upcoming stint as a game show host, Kelce continues to connect with fans via his sports podcast “New Heights.”

In other news from Kelce’s world, he was recently spotted at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival alongside Taylor Swift. Swift seemed to be having a bit too much fun, as per a viral video analyzed by Jackie Gonzalez. The former “Squid Game” actor, known for her lip-reading skills, suggests Swift apologized to Kelce for being intoxicated at the festival.
