President Trump cleaned house this week at the National Security Council—and the spark came from none other than firebrand activist Laura Loomer.
In a move that’s already sending shockwaves through Washington’s bureaucratic echo chamber, Trump fired six senior NSC officials after a face-to-face Oval Office meeting with Loomer, who reportedly handed him a dossier accusing certain staffers of working against his “America First” foreign policy agenda. And yes, she brought receipts.
According to The New York Times, the ax fell swiftly after the meeting. Among those shown the door were Brian Walsh, senior director for intelligence; Maggie Dougherty, senior director for international organizations; and Thomas Boodry, senior director for legislative affairs. These aren’t interns—they’re high-ranking officials whose job is to implement the president’s agenda. Apparently, they missed the memo.
Loomer, never one to shy away from controversy, declined to get into the details of the Oval Office sit-down. But in a statement to ABC News, she made it clear she meant business: “I will continue reiterating the importance of strong vetting, for the sake of protecting the President and our national security.”
Let’s be honest—this is long overdue. The NSC has been leaking like a sieve for years and infested with Obama-era leftovers and careerists who think they know better than the guy actually elected to make foreign policy. This isn’t the first rodeo. We saw this during Trump’s first term: backstabbing bureaucrats, anonymous op-eds, and deep state sabotage at every turn.
But now, in Trump 2.0, the patience is gone—and apparently so are the staffers.
Present at the meeting were Vice President JD Vance, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Personnel Director Sergio Gor, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA). National Security Advisor Michael Waltz reportedly showed up late and tried to defend some of his people, but sources say he was basically steamrolled. His job, for now, appears safe—but no one’s betting on that lasting.
Loomer’s rising clout has many in Trump World taking notice—and some squirming. Once dismissed by the establishment as a fringe figure, she’s now advising the most powerful man in the world—and clearly being listened to.
Trump once joked, “You don’t want to be Loomered… That’s the end of your career.” Judging by the pile of NSC pink slips, it’s no longer a joke—it’s official policy.
